What is Plane x Slack?
The Plane Slack integration connects your project management with team chat. Create work items from conversations, get notifications, and interact with Plane without leaving Slack.

Setting Up the Integration
Prerequisites
- Pro plan or higher
- Workspace Admin access (for workspace connection)
Step 1: Connect Workspace
- Go to Workspace Settings → Integrations
- Find Slack
- Click Configure
- Click Install
- Authorize Plane in Slack
Step 2: Connect Personal Account
Individual team members connect their accounts:
- Go to Profile Settings → Connections
- Find Slack
- Click Connect
- Authorize
This enables features like Thread Sync (comments sync between Slack and Plane).
Creating Work Items from Slack
Method 1: Message Shortcut
- Hover over any Slack message
- Click the More actions (⋯) menu
- Select Create Work Item
- Fill in details in the modal
- Save

Now the thread and work item are connected.
